OUR HISTORY
BYGONE BERKSHIRES
Blythewood Farm, a once distinguished part of the "Berkshire Cottages," spanned an impressive 450 acres along the picturesque shoreline of Onota Lake. The estate's original owner, Wirt Dexter Walker, a prominent Chicago lawyer was convinced that the healing qualities of the Berkshire mountain air could alleviate his health issues. To realize his vision, Walker commissioned local architect H. Neill Wilson to design a grand summer cottage. Completed in 1890, Blythewood stood as he envisioned - a luxurious retreat. The design embodied the opulence and tranquility sought by wealthy individuals seeking refuge and respite from the bustling city life.

"I could say a million good things about Cottage Farm! Everything was gorgeous. Working with Rebecca & Shari was super easy and our communication was amazing. I loved that we had the venue from Friday-Sunday. The cottage was the perfect place for my bridal party to get ready in the day of the wedding and to stay together the night before. Thank you so much!"
